Some millionaire weekend pics

Wednesday Weirdness

Let's get right to business and start Wednesday Weirdness. Check out their site and play too.

1.) As an adult, do you do anything for Halloween or is it jut another day?
It's just another day. We don't do halloween.

2.) Do you ever dress up for Halloween? What will be your costume this year?
See previous answer.

3.) Have you started Christmas shopping yet? When do you usually begin?
I already started the lists. But I'll leave the shopping until December, because if my family wants something they go to the store and get it.

4.) Do you look people in the eye when talking? Does it bother you when people don't make eye contact during conversation?
Yes I do look people in the eye but not the whole time. It bothers me when people don't make eye contact but they can swift their gaze once in awhile because otherwise it looks like they are staring. And that makes me uncomfortable.

5.) What excuse do you usually use when you want to take a day off work for no real reason?
I don't. I do take days of work to go shopping but I've asked for them.

6.) How often, on average, do you find yourself thinking about sex per day?
No idea. Not a lot.

7.) What company makes your favorite brand of shoes? What makes them your favorite?
Comfortable sneakers, so that can be nike, puma, oasics. I would like to find a shoe brand that has comfortable heels. Shoes with heels never seem to fit me. They're half a size too big or when I get a half size smaller my feet can't get in. Sigh!

8.) Do you ever save alcohol bottles once they are empty?
Why?

9.) Do you enjoy musicals?
Yes :D. I'm going to an operette next week (sort of a musical).

Who is a millionaire?

I am! Or well I was this Saturday. :D

Friday I came home from school around half past 3. And then a lady from Samsung calls me (again apparently since it was the same number of those missed calls). She asks me if I bought a samsung blabla phone and entered for a contest of the millionaire feeling. Yes I did. Well...in that case, you have won this weeks price. WOW! I thought that there was one huge price at the end (and my confirmation said that the winner would hear about 4 weeks after closure, so that would be in November). But apparently there was one every week. And I had won this weeks :D. And it was tomorrow! (so Saturday)

Me and 9 friends, yes I could invite that many friends. We would be picked up with a limo and then go to Slot Zeist (is sort of a castle) for a luxurious 7 course diner. And then the limo would take us back home.

I started calling some friends immediately. Of course they would join me.

Then the girl from Samsung called again. She couldn't get ahold of the limo company but she did find out that the price also included a stay over at a hotel near Slot Zeist. Okay that would be fine too :D :D :D.

Because it would be a private! dinner we could decide ourselves how we wanted to be dressed. Well...it's too fancy to go in your jeans, but we could have done that, so we dressed up all fancy.

Because everything went so fast I hadn't had time to check the website. Luckily I didn't because now everything was so much more spectacular, we just didn't know what was coming.

At 5.30 on Saturday the white strech limo drives by. My whole street is already watching outside, for whom is this limo. As soon as we're settled in the car, the drives opens the champagne for us and we're on our way.

People can't actually look into the limo but we can see out. And we saw a lot of faces stuck to their windows to see if they could get a glimpse of who was in that car. We :D!

Then we drive up to Slot Zeist. You have stairs that lead to the front door, and on those stairs are a lot people in suits. We thought it was just the personnel. It was but it was our!! personnel. I got flowers and was the Cinderella at the ball. I could seat my friends, like you sit there and you there (i could get used to that ;)). And then we each got our own butler. So awesome. The food was delicious. Normally there is at least one course that someone doesn't like (with my parents I sometimes go to a 5/6 course dinner), but that wasn't the case. It was all superb!

Then we walked to our hotel. And the rooms were big. The hotel was completely full so we couldn't have a room all by ourselves. Well...it were all couples so that wouldn't be a problem. But who would want to be alone in a hotelroom? When we entered my room (they'd put our luggage there) you first had a dinning area, then a living area. And in another room there was the bedroom with a bathroom (big one).

The next morning we got up, got breakfast. And another white strech limo was outside. He even had a red carpet. The whole hotel was glued to the windows.

And about an hour later we were back home and the millionaire experience was over. But it was great. And I read on the internet about the other winners. And they were all smaller groups. Two went to a diamond factory and they could spend 500 euro but they could only experience this with one person. I had 7 friends (well...not everyone is available at the last minute) who experienced this with me. I was the richest girl in the world.

So that was my weekend. How was yours? ;)

It's time for: Wednesday Weirdness

So I wanted to post about my trip to Vlieland last week. But just I haven't found the time. Next Wednesday is the deadline for our "de-stress" project so then I will have time to post, if there's anything worth posting.

The project is coming along great. Yesterday we turned the content upside down. It wasn't logic that you would first calculate the price you ask for a product but in the next chapter you have to do the promotional activities. And the costs of those activities have to be calculated in the product price. So we changed it around, completely. We were like euhm...I don't know what should be in this subparagraph, well... leave it out, this looks more like marketing than it does for analysis, okay let's put it in the marketing section.

And with changing everything around we now only have a few things left to do and we probably only have to cross the "t"s and dot the "i"s in the weekend.

Next Friday I'm going to do an exam I haven't studied for just in case my Spanish falls through (hey, I have a knack for numbers not for languages and then missing the basics isn't helping).

Okay now it's time for
WEDNESDAY WEIRDNESS

1. Is there a particular birthday that you are dreading (ex: 40th) why?
Fortunately not. The first "scary" birthday is more than 7 years away.

2. What is your favorite birthday memory?
I can't remember a lot, but I know I was very young. I came down the stairs on my birthday and opened the door to the living room and there it was my very own Barbie house.

3. What was the best birthday present you ever received? The worst?
I've gotten so many good presents.
The worst? Euhm...my aunt and uncle saying the present has been ordered/it wasn't in yet/it's not your real birthday yet so you'll get it then/it's on its way and then never getting the present. I don't mind not getting a present, but don't tell me that you got me a present but it's not there yet. With St. Nicks they gave me and my cousins a bag (very ugly and very expensive thing) and mine was broken. They would give me a new one. I was 16 then I'm turning 23 this December and I'm still waiting.

And if they did this to my brother as well or my cousins, it wouldn't be a problem. But my brother got a weekend Barcelona with his girlfriend. ARGH!

4. Frosting roses: Love them or hate them?
Don't know what they are.

5. Do you like when people make a big deal out of your birthday, or do you prefer a quiet or no celebration?
Somewhere in between. Last year I wanted a "quiet" birthday party. When the day came I had to get standing tables to have room for everyone. It was so much fun.
I don't like it when people make a big deal out of my birthday because I don't like surprises when I know a surprise is coming.

6. Surprise parties; Good or Evil?
Good if I don't know about it. Evil if I know they are planning something but I can't figure out what.

7. Bonus Question: Over at Casa ASM, it is traditional for the birthday boy or girl to get carte blanche in the bedroom that night. Who and/or what would you choose for birthday bedroom carte blanche?
Surprise me.

Wednesday Weirdness on Thursday

For the project I was away for a few days. And thus missing Wednesday Weirdness on Wednesday.

Normally when you are in the Netherlands and you drive for a few hours, you're not in the Netherlands anymore. We are just too small. But I figured out that you can still be in the Netherlands after 5 hours of travelling. First almost 3 hours in the car, then waiting for the boat and then 1,5 hours in the boat. We visited Vlieland (that's one of the Wadden islands above the Netherlands). In the same time I could have been in Paris! And Vlieland is soooo boring, so it's perfect for our project.

Well....let's get down to Wednesday Weirdness.

1. If you could only eat one fruit for an entire year and that fruit would magically be in season and ripe that full year, which fruit would you choose and why?
Only one fruit. Euhm....strawberries, no nectarines. Because when they are ripe they are sooo delicious.

2. What is something that makes you sad?
The World

3. What would you do if you came home from an extended vacation and found that someone else was living in your house?
I would probably freak out and then demand that they would leave at once. Or otherwise call the cops on them.

4. What US President, alive or otherwise, would you like to have dinner with?
I don't know. I'm not an American and I wouldn't even know who I wanted to have dinner with from our Royal House (well..maybe our future queen and her sisters, they're 5, 3 and 2 at the moment and so cute).
I've given it some thought and I think I would have dinner with Churchill, don't know why. Or with Bush (doesn't matter which one) so I could bash his head in.

5. What is your opinion on multitasking while driving? (Reading a book or work documents, changing clothes, fixing hair, applying make up, shaving your face, et cetera)
Keep your eyes on the road!
In the Netherlands it's too busy on the road to do multitasking in the car. Because if you don't pay attention for just one second you're on the back of the car before you.
And even if it wouldn't be so busy I think you shouldn't do anything while driving, except for paying attention on the road.

6. Do you ever multitask while driving? If so, how often would you say you are guilty of it?
I just don't. If I have friends in the car we talk. But that's not multitasking. Women speak all the time, it's natural.

7. Do you tend to be early, on time, fashionably late or LATE to work and work related events? Do you tend to be more or less punctual for non-work related events?
I'm early/on time for work (events) depends on traffic. I'm less punctual for non-work related stuff but still almost always on time. For dates, meetings with friends and stuff I'm on time. If there's a birthday party I'm half an hour late. But then I'm still one of the early birds.

8. What is a quirk your significant other has that you would define as "cute"? If you have no SO, what is a quirk you find cute in a potential SO?
He behaves like a gentlemen. He doesn't open the cardoor for me. But he opens doors. Always picks me up if we're going somewhere, even if he would just ask if I could drive so he could drink. He doesn't drink because of me when he has to drive. He only does this for me. Yes I know he should never drive while he'd been drinking, but try to tell him that.

Wednesday Weirdness

Check out Wednesday Weirdness.

1.) Do you think you're approachable?
I think I am. I'm not scary or anything.

2.) Out of the two, would you rather be able to predict things before they happened or be able to read minds whenever you wanted to? Why?
Read minds, defenitely read minds. If you already know what is going to happen then you will never be surprised. And if I could read the minds of boyfriends, wow that would make life so much easier.

3.) Have you ever kissed, fooled around or slept with an ex significant other AFTER you were already broken up?
Guilty. Remember 3...4 x a charm. Another story about him is evolving.

4.) Do you believe dreams are your imagination running wild as you sleep, your subconscious showing you what's really on your mind or something else entirely?
Nope. I would like to think that your dreams deal with the day you had, or that you can deal with things because the "raging" has already been done in your sleep. But research has shown that nothing happens in your sleep.

5.) How often do you use cuss words? Does your use of cuss words vary on your moods or situations? I censor myself. I bleep. Like WTBleep. Or bleep what just happened.
I used to use the word shit but that was it. Yes I'm a good girl :P.

6.) Do you ever purposely lead people on so you can get what you want? I probably have. And I probably would do it again. But it depends who I have to lead on or how much I value the thing that I want.

7.) When was the last time you did something you told yourself you wouldn't do? What was it? I said 3x a charm and then I gave the guy a 4th chance. I really didn't want to (but maybe I did).

8.) If you could meet one musician who is no longer alive, who would it be?
You have to give me time for this one. I'll come back on it later.

Another Wednesday (Weirdness)

So I've been absent on blogger for a week. Have been checking most of your blogs.

I've been so busy on the project. For a country as small as the Netherlands (we have between 16 and 17 million people) a lot of money is "lost" on stress-related illness. To give you a number: € 6 billion (so that's about 8/9 billion dollars) a year is spend by the government business companies on stress-related illness. Between 150.000 and 300.000 people a year call in sick because of stress. Out of every 100.000 persons who get unemployed insurance (don't know the English name for it) 1/3 is in there because of stress.

Done with the facts. Here's Wednesday Weirdness, I'm loyal. Are you?

1.) Have you ever purchased an item of clothing and intentionally worn it with tags on it so that you could return it the next day?
No, I haven't but maybe I would if I had a fancy party to attend from someone unimportant (for parties of friends I would just buy the garment).

2.) Would you rather be late to the party, or the first person to arrive? Why?
Depends on who is throwing the party. If it's someone I'm comfortable with, I don't mind. If I want to have a chance to talk to the person, I would even ask if they need any help preparing. If I don't feel like going or not a lot of people I know are there I would be a bit late.

3.) When do you usually begin your Christmas shopping?
Sort of now. If I see an interesting present for one of my family members I would write it down. If it's unique I would buy it but if it's more common I would buy it after the first week of December (we have St. Nicolas on Dec 5th). Since my family never knows anything and when they do need/want something they go to the store to buy it. So if I see something now, it is possible that they already have it before December. And I don't want to waste any money, on buying double presents and not being able to return the "old" ones. December is a too expensive month. Luckily it is the month of my birthday, so some money comes in (but I don't get any presents other than December).

4.) What three cancelled tv shows do you wish they’d bring back?
I liked Joan of Arcadia and they left the season with a cliff hanger (duh! they were expecting to have another season). I watch traveller but that was only for 8 episodes, because you guys (pointing at the US readers) didn't watch it (I don't blame you because who wants to be inside during Summer?)
And.....I'm thinking. I liked girlmore girls but it was time for an ending, like Charmed. Dunno what else.

5.) What do you have in your vehicle's glove compartment?
I don't know. The insurance papers in case I hit someone. And the manual of the car. Yup my car is pretty clean. In the door I have a snow scraper and sunglasses. That's it. (Yeah, in the back is the spare wheel and change equipment)

6.) Have you ever donated blood?
Nope. I'm really scare of needles. I know it's between the ears and that a bruise even hurts more, but I'm not letting a needle inside my unless it is absolutely necessary.

7.) Have you ever kissed or dated someone elses significant other? What happened?
No. I'm a good girl :P.

8.) Have you ever mistaken one product for another while in the bathroom and didn't notice until after you used it? (EXAMPLE: Washing your hair with liquid body soap, slathering hand soap on your legs instead of lotion after a shower, et cetera)
Maybe using conditioner first instead of shampoo, I can't remember. Now my shampoo is shampoo and conditioner in 1, soooo easy.

9.) Would you/Have you ever dated someone who had a criminal record?
If I have dated someone who had a criminal record, I didn't know then and I don't know now. If I would...euhm...thinks so. Depending on what his crime was and if he shows regret and got his punishment.

Okay, that was it for today. Happy Wednesday!
